JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources or designate, the EHS Specialist will work closely with all departments to ensure that all health and safety, regulatory and company requirements are implemented in all facilities including Accuristix and Nova Pack LTD.
The EHS Specialist will work closely with clients, ministry representatives and auditors to review Accuristix and Nova Pack LTD’s EHS Management Systems.
The EHS Specialist will also oversee the Internal Responsibility System and all training as it relates to EHS ensuring associates are knowledgeable about safety and their responsibilities. The EHS Specialist is responsible for creating a safe, discrimination free, positive workplace environment.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop all EHS policies and documentation.
· Review all Change Control documentation to assess any EHS impact/risk.
· Train or work directly with the HR Trainers to ensure comprehension and compliance to policies.
· Work with HR Trainers to develop robust EHS training programs.
· Maintain MSDS documentation for all sites.
· Ensure Accuristix companies are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements.
· Develop and implement compliance improvement programs.
· Oversee all JHSC meetings.
· Review all Workplace Inspection audits and implement any actions/recommendations.
· Investigate any accidents/injuries/property damage and complete any required documentation resulting from these including WSIB documentation.
· Implement any corrective actions and preventative actions as a result of all cross functional investigations.
· Supporting the HR team by liaising with medical practitioners and/or WSIB in relation to Accuristix’s Early Safe Return to Work program (ESRTW). In addition work closely with department heads to arrange for any modified duties that may be required based on limitations.
· Purchase all PPE and First Aid supplies
· Deliver a comprehensive fire risk assessment program.
· Ensure that any actions resulting from this assessment are appropriately prioritized and implemented.
· Audit facilities to ensure compliance.
· Audit fire suppression vendors to ensure compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post-Secondary Education or Certification in EHS field
· Significant experience (5 years or more) in EHS related practices
· Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Shift Timing: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
