Job Description The Role

Becoming a new graduate occupational therapist with Down South Therapy means that you will be starting your career with a supportive, vibrant and passionate team that works together to make a significant impact on the lives of others and those connected to them. 

Our diverse caseload gives you the opportunity to expand your experience and skills in all areas that matter to you the most, working with people of all ages and abilities.

Your first weeks on the graduate program will be focused on professional development. The graded increase in individuals you see daily will ensure you are confident and ready to go with no hesitation.

Targeted career mapping gives you control of where you want to broaden your knowledge.

  • Program duration guided by your needs; from 6 months - 1 year
  • Extra study programs covering all areas and across disciplines
  • Weekly supervision, mentoring and group meetings provide the support you need to achieve your goals
  • Shadowing opportunities across the team and different disciplines to gain knowledge, understanding and expand your interest in other areas
  • Continuous development opportunities scaffolded to your interests and learning needs.

Our graduate program allows you to connect with other new graduates in the organisation and experienced team members to create your own professional support network.

Our team comes together for regular team meetings 

  • Weekly Clinical Supervision to ensure you feel supported and to promote your growth and development
  • Weekly discipline-specific and transdisciplinary meetings to learn from and share your knowledge and skills
Desired Skills and Experience

You will need to have

  • AHPRA Registration - Occupational Therapy
  • Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • National Police Check
  • Driver’s Licence
