In partnership with the University of Tasmania the Service has also recently established the Tasmanian Centre for Mental Health Service Innovation which is dedicated to helping enhance and improve mental health service offerings for children, young people, and adults across Tasmania. The Centre is being co-directed by Professor David Castle and Professor Brett McDermott and its activities will focus on workforce development, training and education, research and development, and policy and advocacy.All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce and the Tasmanian community. As part of a multidisciplinary Mental Health Service delivering high quality mental health care and in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.Available roles for Staff Specialist – Psychiatrists include the provision of services in:Community-based Mental Health Services, including the Acute Care Stream (ACS), the Continuing Care Stream (CCS), Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MHHiTH) with further new services in development.The acute general adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).The general adult Consultation-Liaison (CL) psychiatric service in the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) and associated facilities, including the Emergency Department (ED) and the Mental Health Short Stay Unit (MHSSU).Residential facilities run by our Mental Health Service.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for a full list of the duties.The position is based in the Greater Hobart area that boasts many boutique cafes, weekend farmers markets and restaurants serving fantastic fresh Tasmania produce, with views of our great mountain and/or river.
