About the Role: 


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing all health and safety protocols and procedures for our live events. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills and a passion for ensuring the well-being of all individuals involved in our events.


Responsibilities:


  • Implement and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures for live events.
  • Conduct risk assessments and work to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, production teams, and vendors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on health and safety best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Serve as the on-site primary point of contact for all health and safety related issues during events.
  • Work with department supervisors to address and mitigate safety concerns
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and implement recommendations for improvement.
  • Properly document all safety issues.
  • Conduct incident investigations when required.


Skills & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety Management, Occupational Health, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in the events or entertainment industry
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Working at heights certificate (preferred) 
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Jotform
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR (preferred)
  • Ability to work; days, evenings, and weekends including holidays, as required to support operational requirements
  • Ability to lift 50lbs


Work Environment:


As the role will also work onsite during our events, there will be work on weekends and holidays with longer workdays typical of event hours. Some events will require travel outside of the city, during such periods Projects will provide accommodations, meal arrangements, and any travel expenses.
