Food Health and Safety Operational Support Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Operational Support Manager to enhance safety and compliance across our educational segment. This pivotal role involves collaborating closely with our HSQE and Account Management Teams to reinforce safety processes at various sites.


This role is perfect for someone passionate about coaching staff to achieve peak performance and compliance. Expect considerable travel, with most days spent on the road and occasional overnight stays near work sites.


Location: Hybrid - North West, North East and Midlands

This role will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and/ or Disclosure Scotland.


What you’ll do:

  • Visit schools to review and support the implementation of Sodexo food safety and health and safety documentation, ensuring compliance.
  • Actively assist in the mobilisation and stabilisation of new contracts, helping operational managers with H&S setup.
  • Support operational teams in achieving compliance through the review and management of the Sodexo auditing tool (IAM).
  • Develop an audit program to ensure consistent compliance across the area.
  • Manage the reporting of school accidents/incidents to Salus, including support for pulse calls and statistical analysis.
  • Provide training to support and develop team competency in line with segment HSEQ requirements.
  • Work with site management to ensure client awareness of Health and Safety risks, maintaining equipment, and maintenance logs.


What you bring:

Essential

  • Level 3 Food Safety Certification
  • IOSH Certification
  • Candidates should have a proven track record of effectively coaching and mentoring teams, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • An aptitude for problem-solving with the ability to approach challenges creatively and efficiently.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the capability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving goals and maintaining high standards.

Desirable

  • Level 4 Food Safety Certification
  • Experience in School Catering
  • NEBOSH Certification
