HSE Advisor

Job Description
  • Report on progress against the plan, recommend changes based on an ongoing assessment of HSE performance and risk management.
  • HSE representative in client and site daily and weekly project management meetings as needed
  • To ensure that every person in the company follows company safety policies required under the law.
  • Conduct risk assessments and list all the possible ways to reduce likelihood and severity.
  • Regularly inspect the work areas to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure that the company supports safe working practices and complies with the law.
  • Support the development of H&S strategies and plans.
  • Record and review all workplace accidents and incidents for reporting and statistical purposes.
  • Keep up to date with Health, safety and environmental legislation that will affect the company.
  • Assist with creating management reports, including bulletins, newsletters, and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely.
  • Ensure disposal of all waste and hazardous substances are carried out in line with safely and environmental legislation .
  • Support the management team to maintain and improve ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 accreditation.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management eg NEBOSH General Certificate [Essential]
  • ISO 450001:2018 and ISO 45001:2018 internal auditor experience [Desirable]
  • Working knowledge of Environmental legislation and practices [Desirable]


Key Technical Skills:

  • Experience in HSE support of large projects, particularly oil and gas and marine projects.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (including presentation skills).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of working with processes & procedures
  • Clear & concise communicator
  • Good understanding of customers & their requirements.
  • Good planning & organisational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple boundaries
  • Able to build effective & productive customer relationships.
  • Confident in challenging situations.
