Occupational Hygienist

Pragma and Associates Ltd are looking to recruit an Occupational Hygienist to work in our expanding Occupational Hygiene team.

You will have the opportunity to develop your career by working collaboratively within a highly experienced and friendly team. The clients you will support are typically leading companies in a diverse range of industries with a positive attitude to ensuring the health of their workforce.


Your work will cover the whole project cycle including client consultation and the development of bespoke proposals, undertaking workplace surveys, and reporting. Project areas will include, but are not limited to, COSHH, noise, vibration and manual handling.


Pragma encourages the career development of our occupational hygienists by fully funding the completion of BOHS courses, the achievement of the CertOH status, and attendance at conferences and seminars. You will also have the benefit of informal mentoring from our multi-disciplinary team, including chartered occupational hygienists and former HSE inspectors.


Your longer-term career prospects include the potential to work as an expert witness in legal cases involving allegations of failures to achieve appropriate occupational hygiene standards. In the short-term your role may include opportunities to learn about the work of expert witnesses by providing research support to our existing high-profile team.


Person Specification

In addition to having excellent organisational and communication skills, you will:

  • Be educated to degree level or higher in a technical discipline
  • Have at least one year of experience in occupational hygiene, or a related discipline involving the management of occupational health risks (e.g. asbestos, H&S)
  • Have the ability to produce high quality technical reports to budget and timescale
  • Have the desire to achieve the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competencu (CertOH)

 

Salary and location

Annual salary of £28,000 to £38,000 depending on experience, plus 10% on target bonus.


This is a hybrid position that will require visits to client sites across the UK and to our office in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The position is open to candidates throughout the UK.
