The Position The purpose of the Palliative Care Physician position is;
To provide excellent clinical care for his/her patients.
To provide leadership for junior medical and other clinical staff.
To support the hospital’s teaching, research and clinical governance programs.
To support other service providers to provide high-quality palliative care across the Gippsland region. This includes health care providers, General Practitioners and other stakeholders.
The Location: Located less than 2 hour's drive to the East of Melbourne this is the largest city in the Latrobe Valley. The city has a large commercial centre which incorporates the major regional railway station.
The Facility: The facility stands as the primary source for specialized healthcare in the Gippsland area, located to the east of Melbourne. Offering a wide spectrum of services, it caters to emergency and intensive care, elective surgeries, allied health support, obstetrics, medical and radiation oncology through the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre, dialysis, and aged care.
The Requirements:
Eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA
Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) with specialized skills, knowledge and clinical competence in the area of palliative care are mandatory and should hold an FRACP in Palliative Medicine.
