Georgiou Group has partnered with ACCIONA Construction Australia to deliver the first stage of the Gold Coast’s largest road infrastructure project. The project will involve construction of six new bridge structures in an environment with unique geotechnical conditions and challenging interfacing on a gazetted green-field site.

You will have the opportunity to take on a varied and exciting role delivering the first stage of an important region-shaping project.

What you’re good at:

Aside from having experience in a previous safety role with working knowledge ideally within the civil construction industry. You should have demonstrated examples to showcase:

  • Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801, ISO 14001, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Act & Regulations
  • High attention to detail, accurate data and record keeping ability
  • Ability to identify H&S project risks through the provision of technical guidance relating to WHS Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • Ability to read and interpret Project Risk Registers and Management Plans
  • Review subcontractor SWMS’s & Task Hazard Review Cards onsite for completion and accuracy
  • Taking the initiative, to be on the lookout for improvement opportunities and championing improvements.
  • Certificate lV or equivalent tertiary qualifications

What you’ll do (but not limited to):

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop effective relationships that facilitate the successful communication and implementation of AG-JV systems
  • Create and enter reports into the HSEQ System (i.e., incident reports, hazards, NCRs and OFIs)
  • Develop and review SWMS, Job Hazard Analyses and Permits to Work.
  • Onboard plant and equipment, facilitate operator authority to work assessments and undertake project inductions.
  • Lead proactive audits and inspections on site to ensure compliance with the project Health and Safety Management System.
  • Ensure project teams are adequately trained to perform their responsibilities and provide ongoing coaching to ensure total compliance with internal systems and legislative requirements
  • Influence a positive attitude and commitment towards safety across the business
