The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to join our team working on the Mardie Salt Potash Project based in the Pilbara on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth.
This exciting marine project includes the design, supply, fabrication, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of a piled 2.4 km jetty structure with head-end platform, berthing and mooring dolphins. Construction will involve anchoring to the ocean floor more than 200 steel piles, each up to 30 metres long and weighing a combined 3,800 tonnes in addition to a materials handling conveying system including shiploader.
The Senior HSE Advisor will work with our HSE team and play a key role in providing health, safety and environment leadership and support to project personnel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work to achieve the project health and safety targets and building a strong health and safety culture
  • Be familiar with and provide advice on health and safety law and regulations applicable to works being undertaken
  • Report on health and safety matters to various levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaise with and advise construction personnel in regard to mitigation and management of risks and hazards
  • Ensure subcontractor understanding and compliance
  • Conduct audits and identify areas for improvement
  • Collate, analyse and interpret health and safety data 
  • Complete investigations, including the use of the ICAM process as required
  • Review site risk registers and support Construction Risk Assessment Workshops (CRAWs) as necessary
  • Continuously review on-site work practices, materials conditions, plant and equipment and identify health and safety hazards
  • Be enthusiastic and lead project-based health, safety and wellbeing initiatives / campaigns for the greater workforce
To be successful  you will be an enthusiastic and adaptable individual who builds effective and lasting relationships. You will have good communication skills, a knack for getting the workforce motivated, and be able to deliver a high standard of health and safety support across our projects.
You must be committed to learn our systems and processes and align with our values. You must be an experienced HSE Advisor for this role and hold as a minimum a Cert IV in Health and Safety and be able to demonstrate your experience in the construction industry.
