NSW Government isreplacing the ageing NSW regional rail fleet of XPT, XPLORER and Endeavourtrains. The new trains will improve safety, amenities, accessibility andreliability for customers who travel from Sydney to many regional centres inNSW, as well as Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.

As part of the $2.8billion Regional Rail Project, UGL will perform all asset management andmaintenance activities for the new regional rail fleet of 117 rail cars,training simulators and the maintenance facility in Dubbo for at least 15years.


About your role

As the Senior HSEAdvisor your role will support the site in the effective implementation ofWHS, Rail Safety, Workers Compensation & Injury Management, andEnvironmental (HSE) processes and systems to improve performance to meet our legalrequirements and our standards.

You will provide adviceand support the Manufacturing & Maintenance division, specifically theRegional Rail Project in driving the right outcomes for the project. The rolewill support the HSE Manager and Operations Manager Regional Rail infacilitating effective implementation of WHS, Rail Safety, Workers Compensation& Injury Management, and Environmental (HSE) processes and systems tocontinually improve our safety and environmental performance, and meet legalrequirements, and UGL minimum standards.

You will haveexperience in a similar HSE role, in Construction, Infrastructure or any high-risk industry.

To be successful in therole, you will also have the following skills & experience:

· TertiaryQualifications in a Workplace Health & Safety related discipline

· IncidentInvestigation Trained (ICAM preferable)

· Indepth knowledge of the WH&S, Environment and Workers Compensationlegislations

· Strongcommunication & consultative skills (oral & written), including strongnegotiation and influencing skills with internal & external stakeholders

· Ability and willingness to adapt, prioritise, quicklylearn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changingstructure, process, information and/or technology

· Demonstrated experience in coaching andmentoring teams
