Keeps assigned areas clean and attractive with emphasis on infection prevention. Uses disinfectants and other supplies according to manufacturer specifications and infection prevention guidelines.

Job Specific:

• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, damp wipes with disinfectant. (EF)
• Removes trash and soiled linen. (EF)
• Cleans and stores hospital equipment as directed. (EF)
• Reports needed maintenance repairs. (EF)
• Documents all tasks and make record of patient requests and complaints in room cleaning. (EF)

Hospital:

• Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
• Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
• Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
• Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.

Other Duties As Assigned:

• Consistent work history or education
• Ability learn and apply proper techniques in cleaning a healthcare environment

PREFERRED:

• Two years cleaning experience in healthcare or other industry
• Proven work experience as a housekeeper or custodian in healthcare
