To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for an Occupational Therapist to support our NICU and Neonatal Follow-up Clinic at our Mount Sinai Hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties

  • Assessment, planning and therapeutic intervention for an assigned patient caseload in the NICU and Neonatal Follow-up Clinic (preterm to 3 years of age with potential to extend into school age) according to Occupational Therapy scope of practice (including but not limited to: infant feeding and development).
  • Completion of standardized assessment measures including: Bayley Scales of Infant Development (BSID) and Mullen Scales of Early Learning
  • Appropriate documentation of Occupational Therapy activities
  • Record workload measurement
  • Participation in inter-professional clinics and rounds
  • Program development and evaluation

Teaching Duties

  • Participate in teaching activities for Occupational Therapy students, including provision of clinical placements, laboratory teaching, and classroom teaching
  • Participate in teaching students from other disciplines
  • Participate in development of student programs
  • Provide in-service education as appropriate to colleagues

Research Duties

  • Participate in research activities as appropriate within the Department of Rehabilitation in collaboration with other departments/professions
Job Requirements
  • Currently registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario in good standing
  • Minimum 1 year experience with infant feeding and administration of standardized pediatric assessments (Ex. Bayley’s)
  • Travel to satellite clinic in Brampton once per month
  • Certification in Neonatal Massage considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent occupational therapy clinical skills with a broad variety of diagnostic groups
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in collaboration with inter-professional team
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
