General Role Statement:

As a Radiology registrar with Northern Imaging Victoria, you will be part of a team delivering safe, high quality and efficient diagnostic imaging services to the referrers and patients of Northern Health as well as external referrers. This role has a primary commitment to provision of clinical services including reporting, procedures and attendance at clinical and multidisciplinary meetings to develop knowledge and experience in Radiology. Additional responsibilities include participation in audit, research, supervision of junior staff/medical students and educational activities.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Qualifications, Registrations and Qualities

  • Primary medical qualification (MBBS, MB BCh, MD or equivalent) recognized by the Medical Board of Australia and the Board of RANZCR (or have successfully completed both Part 1 and Part II AMC examinations for overseas Medical Graduates in Australia).
    OR
  • Be registered in a general scope by the Medical Council of New Zealand.
    OR
  • Be a graduate of a medical school recognized by the registering authority of the country in which the RANZCR training program is conducted and the Board of RANZCR.
     
  • Must hold general registration as a medical practitioner by the registering authority recognized by the Board of RANZCR, in the state or country in which RANZCR training program is conducted, without any restriction, conditions, suspension or cancellation (unless otherwise specifically approved in writing by the college).
  • Must be eligible to be licensed to practise Radiology under the Radiation Control Act.
  • Have completed at least two full years in an accredited hospital as an intern/resident or equivalent by the planned commencement of the advertised training position.
  • Eligible to work in the relevant jurisdiction, either Australia, New Zealand or Singapore.
  • Valid working visa if not an Australian resident.
  • Current National Police and Working with Children History Check.
  • The Staff Immunisation Questionnaire must be completed by all new employees as part of the mandatory on-boarding process. New employees are not permitted to undertake any activity that requires patient contact prior to clearance by the Staff Immunisation Nurses; this also includes evidence of having the Flu vaccination on a yearly basis and being fully vaccinated against Covid-19. New employees with contra-indications to vaccinations or who decline vaccination are required to attend a face to face consultation with the Immunisation Nurses for appropriate documentation of their contraindications or declination. This must be completed PRIOR to commencing any work with Northern Health.
  • Proficient in computer skills including operation of RIS-PACS and VR systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Clinical Governance.
