Dental Assistant

IWC seeks a Dental Assistant for part time hours to work across all areas of their accredited Dental Service.

IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation that delivers services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett.

ABOUT THE POSITION: 

IWC have an exciting opportunity for a Dental Assistant to join their team. 
The Dental Assistant may also be required to cover Reception duties and Sterilisation as required. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient care and management.
  • High standards of infection control.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.
  • Process and organize lab jobs and x-rays.
  • Previous experience in a dental practice environment is essential.
  • Proficient in keyboard skills and basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel and at least one Dental software program.

Skills and Attributes: 

  • High standard of infections control and safe clinical practices.
  • Initiative and flexibility.
  • Strong ability to learn new skills and systems quickly.
  • High level of confidentiality.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting is desired.
  • A current driver's licence is essential or ability to obtain. 
  • A First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • A Blue Card (Working with Children Card QLD)* or ability to obtain.
  • A Federal Police Check or ability to obtain.

* No Card, No Start legislation means that the successful applicant will need to hold a valid blue card before they start work. IWC will cover the cost of this application for the successful candidate. 

SALARY PACKAGE:

Your Salary Package is made up of the following: - 

  • Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum – adding approximately $2,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation).
  • Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,600 per annum (available after completion of probation).
  • Early finish on Fridays.
  • Superannuation valued at 11%.
  • Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%.
