What You Will Be Doing
As the AOD trainee you will assist in the delivery of high-quality care to individuals seeking assistance with an alcohol or other drug use. You will be part of a support structured training program over 12 months to gain skills and knowledge to support your qualification in AOD.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• Completed a Certificate IV in AOD or currently completing a Certificate IV or Diploma AOD during traineeship
• Developing understanding of the AOD treatment system, where and why clients are at increased risk of overdose and other AOD-related harms
• Knowledge and understanding of harm reduction principles and strategies
• Experience in other areas of related need (mental health, family violence, criminal justice, homelessness) (desirable)
