An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to become part of the Invergordon Community Midwifery Team. The post covers the lower Sutherland Area including Dornoch, Bonar Bridge, and Lairg. You will be based at the midwifery Hub at Fyrish Ward, Invergordon County Hospital. The team care for approximately 200 women per year. The Hub provides a base for the community midwives and provides a day case facility.
There may be occasions when the post holder may work within the other teams in Inner Moray Firth.
The successful candidate must be flexible in their approach, be a good team player and have excellent time management skills. Community experience is desirable but not essential and is suitable for Band 6 to apply.
This post is 37 hours per week permanent.
There is an on call commitment required for the provision of a Home Birth/Domino service within the Inner Moray Firth community midwifery teams.
A Full / current driving licence and use of own car is essential for this post.
Invergordon has excellent road and rail links and Inverness airport is relatively close by. The town’s port attracts large cruise liners from all over the world. Close by are many lovely spots for wild swimming, walks, mountain biking, and Munros for outdoor enthusiasts.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
