About us:

The town of Woorabinda is situated on the traditional lands of the Wadja Wadja Aboriginal people and is a designated Aboriginal Shire Council Community located in Central Queensland, 175 km southwest of Rockhampton.

Located in the Aboriginal Community of Woorabinda, 175 km southwest of Rockhampton, the Woorabinda MPHS, provides first line, health care for the people of Woorabinda and surrounding rural population.

About the role:

The Health Worker – Generalist works within the multidisciplinary Community Health Team of the Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service and is responsible for supporting and delivering a range of primary health care programs and health promotion activities.

The two program areas are Women and Children's Health and Chronic disease and Adult Health. The services within these two programs include: Prevention and management of Chronic Disease; Maternal and Child Health; Community and Public Health; Community Home Support (CHSP) and Mental Health.

About you:

  • To be successful in this role you must have a Certificate IIIin Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health care.
  • Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role as outlined, and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe if appointed, are encouraged to apply for this vacancy. Should the applicant be successful, employment will be at the no qualification pay point until evidence of completion of the required qualification(s) is provided. Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $79,354 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $33.11 - $35.07 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
