Veterinary Radiographer - AAERC

The Adelaide Animal Emergency & Referral Centre is a 24hr multi-disciplinary centre offering emergency, specialist, and referral veterinary services. We have a strong principles in providing the absolute best treatment and care for pets in the fields of emergency medicine, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, surgery, critical care, dermatology, behaviour, and diagnostic imaging. Job Description

The position requires a radiographer with medical imaging qualifications skilled in veterinary imaging or an exciting opportunity to transfer skills from human imaging. You will work within a team of Veterinarians, Nurses, and support staff. The role requires knowledge and license to operate a CT, C-arm, and general x-ray.

Qualifications

As a successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Licenced to operate a CT, C-arm, and general x-ray.
  • Support the team to manage day-to-day radiography cases across all services.
  • Support and communicate with the team to perform patient imaging.
  • Oversees patient imaging records and reports and archive appropriately.
  • Manage dosimeters and radiation licences as required by legislation.
  • Maintain and update radiation safety plan as required by legislation and policies.
  • Ensure optimal patient care and stakeholder communication is met.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks on imaging equipment.
  • Consults with company technicians to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Communicate & consult with all departments, team leads and staff with any information relating to imaging.
  • Work within a roster to support daily schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively at times.
  • Work alongside management and other departments providing feedback to line managers.
  • Focus on a continuing education plan and work life balance with your line manager.
  • Participate in quality improvements, initiatives, risk management & OHS.
  • Diligence with excellent time Management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Good oral and written communication skills including patient medical records.
  • Understanding of veterinary practice management programs
  • Ability to work effectively in a high stress environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
