The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill is an integral part of the mental health nursing team, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high quality assessment, planning implementation and care evaluation for women experiencing mental illness.

An opportunity has become available for an Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill (Mental Health - Inpatient Unit Waratah) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Provide consumer centred care in accordance with the relevant legislation, National Mental Health Standards
• Implement recovery-orientated mental health practice to support consumers in their recovery and wellbeing
• Utilise clinical skills in the assessment and observation of consumers mental health state
• Initiate, review, source and liaise with specialists

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Board (NMBA) approved qualification in medication administration. Completion of 519HLTEN A, B or C or 007HLTEN will be highly regarded
• An Advanced Diploma qualification in relevant area of specialty is highly desirable
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
• Base salary ranging from $77 840 - $82 599 per annum

About Us

Waratah Unit is located at Robina Hospital, clinically managed and operated by Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS), Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS). This integrated service model is a recovery and trauma informed model that serves as a platform to provide 8 Short Stay Pathway (72-hour length of stay) and 8 Extended Care beds.

The Waratah Unit provides 2 streamlined pathways of care for managing adult consumers. Consumers in mental health crisis are managed within a Short Stay Pathway. The Short Stay Pathway supports the Crisis Stabilisation Facility, forming a comprehensive approach to a crisis response for the MHSS.
