The town of Woorabinda is situated on the traditional lands of the Wadja Wadja Aboriginal people and is a designated Aboriginal Shire Council Community located in Central Queensland, 175 km south-west of Rockhampton.

The service currently operates the following areas, a hospital with seven Acute Care beds, two bed Emergency Department. A four bed Residential Aged Care unit is incorporated. Community Health services, CHSP and Flexible home care support programs and a Community Alcohol and Drug and Mental Health Service services are also provided.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse (CN) is a Registered Nurse practicing autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, primarily in the Woorabinda Hospital providing direct nursing care at an advanced level emergency, general-inpatient and outpatient care to clients of this predominately indigenous, rural/remote health care setting. Provide support and direction to the Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN) and other non-registered nursing personnel.

The CN follows defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, practice and services and workplaces.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate.

  • Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in Rural and Remote nursing practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute at an advanced level to the nursing assessment and care of individuals and groups in the Rural and Remote/MPHS setting.
  • Ability to participate in own professional development and contribute where applicable to the development of others utilising contemporary practice in the delivery of improved standards of care and to undertake a portfolio of responsibility.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $87,053 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
