Fixed Term Temporary Part-time up to 12 months, 48 hours per fortnight.
Remuneration package of up to $313,589 p.a., comprising base salary range of $97.84 - $124.05 p.h., (L18-L27), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%). attraction and retention incentive allowance, regional and rural attraction allowance, motor vehicle allowance between, professional development allowance and leave, private practice arrangements, communications package, professional indemnity cover and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).

About the role
Townsville University Hospital (TUH) is the only Queensland tertiary children's service outside of southeast Queensland and provides services to the entire northern Queensland region. TUH is located adjacent to James Cook University College of Medicine and academic links are supported.
The incumbent provides leadership in general paediatrics with a focus on the acute care of children in our general paediatric unit and the flow of patients especially between ED, Paediatric unit, PICU and discharge to home or to a local or regional hospital. The position will participate in management of general paediatric inpatient services and will participate with ward service and on call duties for acute paediatrics.
The position will conduct clinics in general paediatrics and community paediatrics and to provide outreach and community services as required. The position will participate in the child protection roster including when on call and when providing acute ward service.,
Subspecialty interest and/or qualification is supported and encouraged along with work in general paediatrics.
Role requirements
Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and / or eligible for registration as a paediatric specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with General Paediatrics.
