    Permanent full-time, part time and casual opportunities exist (let us know your preference in your cover letter) within our 50-bed inpatient unit at Epworth Eastern, located in Box Hill. You will be responsible for caring for and supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment and palliative care for multiple types of cancers (such as breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, high and low grade lymphoma and multiple myeloma) and a number of haematological conditions.

    Our focus is on patient centred care ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of evidenced based care. You will be joining a team that is supported by a dedicated Oncology Educator and the expertise of Clinical nurse consultants in breast care, urology, stomal therapy and palliative care.

    You will make an impact by:

    • Delivering high quality nursing care and an exceptional experience to our patients
    • Utilising a reflective, critical thinking and evidence-based approach to the clinical care of patients
    • Offering education and support to patients and their families
    • Role modelling empathy to patients, families and the medical team

    To be successful in this role:

    You are an experienced registered nurse who either has prior experience working in Oncology or who wants to start their Oncology career. You will be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes. A strong communicator, you have a supportive and engaging style that enables you to easily build rapport with patients and their families. You enjoy collaborating with team members to support the development and growth of the service.

    You will have

    • Current nursing registration with APHRA
    • Minimum two years full time equivalent nursing experience since registration
    • Experience in oncology desired but not essential
    • Chemotherapy administration competent or commitment to undertake course in 12 months post commencement

    Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility with 14 theatres and expansion of ICU to 12 beds. Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology, urology and endoscopy services.     The annual salary range for full time Registered Nurses – AUD $66,710 - $93,669 + super + entitlements and Enrolled Nurses – AUD $66,340 - $73,024 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level and position/experience (prorated for part-time).
