EL 1 Assistant Director - Work Health Safety Section


The People Services Branch (PSB) is responsible for providing effective HR services to our staff. Our vision is to be a contemporary, professional HR service that delivers effectively and efficiently for the business and has the client at the centre of what we do. 
The Work health and Safety Section is responsible for overseeing health and safety systems aimed at preventing workplace injuries and illness the implementation of mental health and wellbeing services for staff and provide rehabilitation support to staff suffering from an injury or illness.
The WorkSafety team is responsible for proactive safety management, such as the identification and control of WHS risks and operational WHS management such as the operation of WHS committees and WHS reporting/auditing. The rehabilitation team are responsible for early intervention activities, injury management and rehabilitation including workers compensation claims management. The mental health and wellbeing team manage the Employee Assistance Program and other initiatives available to employees, including NewAccess, Trauma Informed Care Principles Training.

This recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non-ongoing position/s. For more information about the role, please see the Candidate Information Pack.
Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to18 months. 
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
