Details: The Stakeholder Engagement and Governance team are in the market for a new Director after their last one got promoted (because working here is an excellent development opportunity).

Working in the Policy Branch within Work Safety Group, the Stakeholder Engagement and Governance team leads engagement with employer and employee representative stakeholders within the Territory, on issues relating to the ACT’s work health and safety, workers’ compensation, and industrial relations regulatory frameworks.

Working via Ministerial advisory bodies, the team provides top-tier, professional secretariat services facilitating the delivery of outcomes to improve work health and safety, and workers’ compensation outcomes for the Territory.

Working collaboratively with your Policy Branch peers, through these fora you will coordinate and drive the delivery of strategic policy advice to the Minister for Industrial Relations and Workplace Safety. In this role, the ability to build and maintain productive and cooperative relationships with high-level stakeholders is a must – everyone here is very passionate about getting the best outcomes.

Supporting these fora, you will provide leadership to the team as they undertake Ministerial appointment processes for several boards and committees. Championing existing governance, transparency and accountability frameworks is key to providing assurance to the Minister, Cabinet, and the public that they are getting the best possible outcomes.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in governance, secretariat, stakeholder engagement, workers’ compensation, work health and safety policy or public policy would be highly desirable.

Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position is in a workplace designed for activity-based work (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
