    Exciting opportunities exist to work in a casual capacity as an RN in scrub scout, anaesthetics, or recovery within the Perioperative space at Epworth Geelong, located in Waurn Ponds.

    You will make an impact by:

    • Providing a high level of nursing care to your patient during their theatre journey
    • Assessing, planning, coordinating and evaluating the care delivery needs of patients
    • Monitoring the condition of patients during procedures and reporting changes
    • Recognising and responding to changing needs of the patient
    • Applying a safety-first mindset that sees a positive patient experience outcome

    To be successful in this role

    You are a Registered Nurse looking to work with a theatre team of patient-first nurses. A strong communicator, you are flexible in your approach and have a natural ability to show compassion and empathy to patients. You are solutions focused, you place the patient at the heart of all your decisions and you enjoy collaborating with a team.

    You will have:

    • Relevant experience in scrub scout or anaesthetics, or recovery
    • Acute tertiary experience
    • Ability to work a rotating roster (mix of AM and PM shifts)
    • Ability to be available for weekend on-call

    Epworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin University’s Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world-class health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria.     Our Peri-operative environment consists of 9 Operating Theatres including a Hybrid Theatre, Cath Lab and 2 endoscopy suites.Located all on the one level we have the Operating Theatre, Cath Lab, ICU and Day Surgery allowing excellent patient flow and best patient care. As there is an increased demand for the excellence Epworth Geelong provide to its patients and VMO’s, our operating theatres are continuing to expand. Currently our specialities include; Orthopaedics, Vascular, General, Macs Facs, ENT, Pain, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, Neurosurgery and Urology. We operate Monday to Friday with emergencies on weekends which helps provide flexible rostering, giving our staff an excellent work/life balance. With education as a key motivator for our department we provide multiple opportunities for our staff to develop new skills as well as continue to build on their already strong knowledge base.

    The annual salary range for full time Registered Nurses – AUD $66,711 - $93,669 + super + entitlements depending on registration type, year level and position (prorated for part-time).
