The Organisation

You will be working for a private group responsible for operating one of the largest private emergency departments in Australia. 
Located in a new 12-storey, $345 million hospital with 360 beds, it is the biggest in the southern hemisphere, with 24 beds in the Emergency Department. The hospital provides specialist care in acute medical and surgical care, and is one of South Australia’s largest providers of orthopaedic, cardiac, and neurosurgical services.
The organisation continually strives to offer the highest standards in 24/7 Emergency Health services, within a caring and supportive environment.
The Job 

• As an Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will provide efficient quality medical services to inpatients and outpatients including the provision of 24-hour emergency department coverage on a rostered basis 
• You will be supported by a team of professional and experienced emergency nurses who ensure patients receive the highest level of care possible
• The department has 18 beds, 4 chairs and 2 resus bays
• The ED sees a mix of ambulance, walk ins, workcover presentations with approximately 50 patients per 24 hours
• The department does not see high speed trauma, paediatrics, burns 10%> or mental health presentation
• Emergency Medicine Consultants work on a 24/7 roster with a fair roster of around 14-18 shifts per month including morning, evening and nights

Requirements

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent
