The Department of Education is seeking a Clinical Nurse to fill a temporary part-time position at 0.4 FTE working in state schools (in the North Coast Region). The State School Registered Nurse provides nursing support to build the capacity of school staff to safely administerand manage the health needs of students with specialised health needs, enabling their participation in an educational program.
The position requires the provision of health assessment, health plan development, relevant training, ongoing supervision and support ofschool staff. The team/s the clinical nurse works with may consist of the principal, therapists, registered nurses and school staff. If you have a varied clinical experience, enjoy a challenge and working with children and schools, this is the job for you.
This position isoffered for a period of 7 months, unless otherwise determined.

State schools registered nurses play a pivotal role in connecting schools with health specialists to create a safe supportive environment for students with health needs. Using advanced critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills, they provide tailored services to primary, secondary and special schools breaking down barriers to enhance wellbeing and bridging the gap between health care and education.
