Emergency Vet Nurse - ARH Canberra

Job Description
The Animal Referral Hospital in Canberra is on the hunt for emergency nurses!
Do you love the thrill of emergency? Are you a night owl? Do you love working with a friendly team of vets and nurses? Want to learn all the fun things like ventilating tick patients, blood transfusions, 2am caesareans and bringing animals back from the brink of death? Then boy, do we have the job for you!
We need nurses who can work the hours that come alongside emergency nursing. Our shifts start from 5/6pm all the way through until 7am during the week and 24/7 over weekends/public holidays. These shifts cover a variety of roles including triage consults, hospital nursing, surgery and procedures. ?Those interested in other departments may also have the opportunity to develop a rotating roster through the days and nights.
We have full-time, part-time, and casual positions available. Our roster is flexible and we are sure to find something that works for you!
Remuneration is based on experience, is well above award and all the normal after-hours penalties apply.
Our hospital is almost brand new and we have all the cool toys including MRI and CT! We have separate cat and dog wards, a dedicated ICU area and three surgical theatres.
The emergency team cares for the specialist patients from the day, transfers from other clinics and new emergency consults. We get a wide range of cases from complex medical problems to exciting, life-saving surgeries, wild stitch-ups, and good old puppy cuddles.
We spend our shifts taking care of the pets of Canberra to the best of our abilities, eating all the snacks, listening to all the music and podcasts, and enjoy regular “work family” dinners. Our team is fun, friendly, and supportive and we would love to grow with more like-minded nurses.
We have access to free continuous education resources (The Cage, ProSkills, Recover Initiative etc) and have regular training sessions in-house to ensure we are always providing the best care to our patients.
