URGENT CARE CLINIC REGISTERED NURSE - CASUAL
IWC has an exciting opportunity to work within their Urgent Care Clinic as a casual Registered Nurse. 

ABOUT IWC:

IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation that delivers services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett. 

ABOUT THE POSITION: 

The Registered Nurse will work in IWC's fast-paced Urgent Care Clinic. The Urgent Care Clinic will provide care to category 4 and 5 level emergencies. The clinic is supported by onsite nursing, and clinical staff, pathology, and imaging. 

IWC's Urgent Care Clinic operating hours are as follows: 

Monday to Friday - 8:00 am to 9:00 pm; 

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays - 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. 

Suitable applicants must have flexibility in their working hours and be available to cover after-hours and weekend shifts as required. Shift penalty rates will apply. 

DUTIES: 

  • Triage patients upon arrival.
  • Plan, evaluate and coordinate health and nursing care in consultation with the multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with all staff, stakeholders and community members.
  • Have sound and well-established primary health care skills.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Emergency Department or similar experience is highly desirable. 
  • Triage experience is highly desirable. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with clients, families and other organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous evaluation of service practices and quality improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable computer literacy with experience in Best Practice (Software).

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Nursing.
  • Currently Registered with the AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions in place.
  • A current driver's licence is essential or ability to obtain. 
  • A First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • A Blue Card (Working with Children Card QLD)* or ability to obtain.
  • A Federal Police Check or ability to obtain.

* No Card, No Start legislation means that the successful applicant will need to hold a valid blue card before they start work. IWC will cover the cost of this application for the successful candidate. 

SALARY PACKAGE:

Your Salary Package is made up of the following: - 

  • Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum – adding approximately $4,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation).
  • Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,600 per annum (available after completion of probation).
  • 9-Day Fortnight (for full-time staff).
  • CPD Allowance -$1,200 per annum. 
  • Paid Professional Memberships, Registrations and Insurance. 
  • Superannuation valued at 11%.
  • Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%.
