The role:

An opportunity has become available for experienced nurses to join our Pre-admission area of the Continuum of Care department at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney (SVPHS).

Pre-admission nurses are team members that undertake pre-operative assessment of people receiving care associated with a planned admission. The pre-admission nurse’s role includes assessment/screening, triage and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in planning patient care before an elective procedure. The role is suitable for both registered nurses (RNs) and enrolled nurses (ENs) to apply.

At SVPHS, the preadmission of the patients are managed via virtual and digital technology platforms. Part of this role is confirming pre-procedure diagnostic testing is completed and results are available to the perioperative team, building rapport and trust with the patient through communication that is culturally sensitive, easy to understand, effective and meets the needs of patient, carers and families and providing the patient with pre-procedure information and education. 

You will bring your passion to the role where you will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team and will have the opportunity to participate in all learning and development activities.

The positions available and flexible for full time, part time and casual roles. The role is Monday to Friday with shifts beginning as early as 7.30am with the last shift finishing up to 7pm.

Salary packaging of up to $15,900 per FBT year (pay less tax and increase your take home pay), with increased benefits for full-time employees such as reduction to rent or mortgage payments, vehicle leasing and a meal entertainment card up to $2,600 a year

ABOUT YOU:

As an outstanding Registered Nurse in the Continuum of Care team , your skills will include:

Skills in assessment, communication, cultural and situational awareness

Person-centred care including being respectful of and responsive to the individual’s preferences, needs and values

Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of St Vincent’s Health Australia.

AHPRA registration

Minimum 3 years clinical experience in acute care (wards or perioperative).

Computer literacy and experience with Electronic Medical Records

Have excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Experience/knowledge in pre and post op care for a range of surgical procedures.

Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Strong committed team player with ability to work autonomously.

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

Understanding of NSQHS and ANZCA/ACORN Guidelines that may impact care of patients preparing for surgery


Remuneration:
Classification/Grade: $35.21 - $49.45 + salary packaging + superannuation based on experience level and relevant qualifications, exclusive of shift penalties or allowances
