The Position The Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Nurse to join the team. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing expert care, support, and treatment to patients experiencing mental health challenges. Working within a specialisedmental health unit, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patients' well-being and recovery. Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing support to the inpatient mental health unit.
Collaborate with a team of 12 nurses
Support patients with mental health conditions such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma.
Provide emotional and psychological support to patients, assisting them in managing their conditions.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health careprofessionals to coordinate treatment plans.
Support group therapy sessions and provide one-on-one support to patients as needed.
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Participate in continuous professional development activities.
Participate in the on-call roster.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with valid AHPRA registration.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing (preferred).
Proven experience in mental health nursing (preferred).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathetic and nonjudgmental attitude towards patients.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
