The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Diabetes provides expert clinical knowledge and skills within a multidisciplinary framework to assist individuals and their families/carers to adjust to living with diabetes through active primary care, education, family support, research, and advocacy.

The diabetes educators at the John Morris Diabetes Centre are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team that services people from all walks of life living with diabetes in the North and North East of Tasmania. You will have the ability to work in a supported environment, where applicants can continue to grow their skills in all of life diabetes management. The role:

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Diabetes provides expert clinical knowledge and skills within a multidisciplinary framework to assist individuals and their families/carers to adjust to living with diabetes through active primary care, education, family support, research, and advocacy.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnightcommencing as soon as you would like to join our team.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available as well as benefits:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
  • Supported CPD, with paid study days. Private Practice Plan Trust Funding of up to $3000 every two years for staff to complete CPD and ongoing learnings.
  • The THS offers free EAP to staff and their family, including access to confidential counselling and support.
  • Relocation assistance may be available
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a RegisteredNurse

Graduate Certificate Diabetes Education

Credentialed with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA)
