The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife to achieve planned patient outcomes.

The team:

The Medical Unit team are supportive with the values of the unit being Teamwork, Respect, Empathy and Patient Centred Care.

• The Comprehensive Care Medical Unit at Northwest Regional Hospital consists of a 27 bed General Medical Ward, a 15-bed Isolation/ General Medicine Unit and an 8 bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU) for short stay patients. Staff will have the opportunity to be rotated through all areas of the Medical Unit.
• We specialise in providing care to people living with complex medical conditions including acute stroke, palliative care and end of life nursing , sepsis , respiratory and cardiac conditions and acute delirium. The Isolation area provides care for various transmission-based infections including COVID 19.
• Opportunities for ongoing professional development and learning of Comprehensive Care Medical Nursing are available, supported and encouraged to ensure optimal care for patients with our team of Nurse educators.

Details of Appointment

Multiple permanent, full time and part time, shift-worker (fully rotational) positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible

Salary: $68,913 to $75,902 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
