About The Role

As the Onboarding & Clinical Education Manager you will plays a pivotal role in building the education and wider team, by managing the onboarding process for new doctors and nurses while also overseeing the in-house clinical education team. This role is responsible for the ongoing education and development of clinical staff and wider commercial and Saged external education teams. This role involves coordinating recruitment, developing comprehensive onboarding plans, facilitating preceptorship, and building a team to welcome and train all new hires. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and implementing clinical educational programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of clinical staff across the organisation
Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a team who is confident in participating in the interview and selection process for doctors and nurses
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and stakeholders to determine successful candidates for both clinical roles
  • Develop comprehensive onboarding planning and coordination for new doctors and nurses, including orientation schedules, training modules, and preceptorship programs
  • Establish preceptorship programs to support the integration of new doctors and nurses into the clinic
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of preceptorship programs, making adjustments as needed to optimise outcomes
  • Oversee the in-house clinical education team responsible for designing and delivering educational programs for nurses, doctors, and other clinical staff
  • Develop educational curricula and training materials to address the learning needs of clinical staff across various levels of experience and expertise
  • Collaborate with external education teams to ensure alignment and consistency in educational content and delivery methods
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, soliciting feedback from participants and stakeholders to inform continuous improvement efforts
  • Build and lead a high-performing onboarding and clinical education team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to team members
  • Develop team members' skills and capabilities through training, coaching, and professional development opportunities
  • Utilise clinical expertise to ensure that onboarding and educational processes align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Stay abreast of developments in clinical education and training practices and recommend enhancements to meet evolving needs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to onboarding, education, and credentialing

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Registered Nurse and have a mix of experience across onboarding, internal performance management, and clinical education and have the ability to work across various computer systems. You will be a strong leader with excellent management abilities and able to work cross-functionally across all areas of the Montu Business,

  • Approximately 7 years post-graduate clinical nursing experience, including 3 years of experience in a management role with direct reports
  • Ability to take on board a lot of new information within a short period of time
  • Build and lead a team of Nursing educators
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing onboarding and educational strategies as well as continual development within this space
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and their application in clinical education
  • Clinical expertise and experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to onboarding and education
  • Skill in team building, mentorship, and staff development
  • Capacity to monitor, evaluate, and adjust programs for continuous improvement
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
