The North West Regional Hospital are seeking motivated Enrolled Nurses to join their dynamic Operating Theatre

The role:

We are seeking motivated enrolled nurses to join our dynamic Operating Theatre team located at the North West Regional Hospital.

The successful applicant will provide direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife.

The Team:

Set near a picturesque Tasmanian coastline, the North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160 bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services.The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive

The NWRH Theatre is a vibrant, supportive team consisting of four operating theatres providing Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT, Endoscopy and dental services, as well as permanent clinical nursing educators and floor coordinator. NWRH Theatre is committed to a positive workplace culture, and excellent clinical care within a fun and supportive environment. Standard working hours are a variety of shifts between the hours of 0700 and 2230 seven days a week,with the ability to offer flexible working arrangements, and on call service overnight. There is also a supportive, dedicated leadership and education team to support all learning and development needs.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, shift work position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from June 2024 to June 2025.

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $68,913 - $75,902 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
