Vacancy Name Physiotherapist - AFLW Vacancy No VN081 Employment Type Maximum Term Contract Location Gold Coast Job Details The Gold Coast SUNS AFL Women’s (AFLW) program is looking to fill two part-time physio roles. The roles will ensure that best practice physiotherapy and rehabilitation services are delivered to the playing group. These part-time, contracted roles will consist of changing hours per week, dependent on the phase of the season.
The Opportunity
  • Provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation services to players.
  • Deliver preventative and reactive programs i.e., rehabilitation, injury prevention, player screenings etc.
  • Maintain up to date records of player medical management in conjunction with doctors and other allied health staff.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with key stakeholders (i.e., players, medical services team, Club doctor, coaches, medical contractors, other football department staff)
  • Communicate player injury conditions (including diagnosis, expected prognosis and recommendations) to key stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide coverage across treatment, training and games.
Time Commitment
The AFLW Program consists of an off-season, a pre-season and an in-season. Time commitment varies depending on the time of season.
  • Preseason – June to August – 5-10 hours per week
  • In season – September to November – 10-20 hours per week
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A strong personal brand which personifies the GC SUNS values
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a high-pressure elite sporting environment
  • Proven experience achieving outcomes through direct medical management of athletes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be discreet and work with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability and desire to collaborate and work as part of a team.
  • The ability to receive and respond to feedback.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work within a 24/7 environment.
