The Physician Lead – Lethbridge Unattached Patient Clinic position is responsible for providing medical leadership and direction for the implementation of the Lethbridge Unattached Patient Clinic. 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·         Utilize assigned Alberta Health Services email address for all administrative matters;

·         Actively support processes that will enable the provision of high quality outpatient clinical care in the Lethbridge Unattached Patient Clinic by undertaking to establish benchmarks and measurement mechanisms in accordance with the departmental quality assurance framework;

·         In collaboration with AHS Clinical Operations leaders, develop and periodically update policies and procedures to facilitate appropriate patient care and the efficient operation of the Unattached Patient Clinic;

·         Collaborate and participate in Community Family Medicine Quality Improvement activities as they pertain and impact on the Chinook Regional Hospital;

·         Review and recommend the appropriate and efficient use of resources within the Lethbridge Unattached Patient Clinic;

·         Review and recommend the appropriate and efficient use of resources for Pain Clinic patients;

·         Collaborate with the assigned medical leader in the review of patient related complaints pertaining to the Lethbridge Unattached Patient Clinic; report the findings and make appropriate recommendations to the ZCDH;

·         Represent the Lethbridge Unattached Patient Clinic on Departmental, AHS and site specific committees as required;

·         Facilitate open and effective communication between the Unattached Patient Service and the Department and other disciplines and departments;

·         Serve as chair of the management Committee of the LUPC

·         Liaison with Alberta Health regarding ARP implementation and accountability

 

 

  

Required Qualifications:  The Physician lead is required to be a Participating Physician  or be willing to participate in the ARP. 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

The Physician Lead – Lethbridge Unattached Patient Clinic will need to collaborate with many health disciplines and clinical programs to support optimal care and improved outcomes.

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in:  

  •       verbal and written communication
  •        well-developed interpersonal skills
  •        ability to mentor and coach medical staff
  •       ability to cultivate positive relationships
  •       passion for continuing improvement of quality and patient safety
