Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS): provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.

Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, and is the location of the acute adult inpatient facilities. In addition there is a Adult Step Up Step Down facility located in Gladstone and a Adult Community Care Unit located in Rockhampton.

The Adult Community Services Team is based in Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast and provides a service to consumers with complex mental illness in outpatient and home settings, through a range of community mental health interventions including assessment, case management, therapeutic treatment, support, consultations and referral for adults from the Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast regional area. The service works in collaboration with the adult mental health inpatient and acute care teams, and primary health, community and private sector providers to reduce symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery. 

About the role:

Provide consumer focused, evidence-based care at an advanced level through the use of contemporary skills, knowledge and experience under the supervision (direct or indirect) of a Registered Nurse/Midwife.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Mandatory qualification/s: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as an Enrolled Nurse (EN).
  • Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, a relevant qualification, further studies and/or experience in Mental Health would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and the ability to apply that knowledge in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member to achieve clinical and organisational goals.
  • Awareness of and ability to apply and adhere to organisational policies, including policies relating to human resources, workplace health and safety and quality improvement.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $94,242 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $39.25 - $41.65 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
