This service dedicated to assisting both the elderly population and disabled clients through promoting client independence. Provide life changing therapy, assessments, and equipment prescription. You will receive immense support from the Director and other Senior Therapists as you pioneer into Mt Isa service provision.

The role:

  • Undertake assessments – assessment of daily living capabilities and provide intervention with a focus on evidence-based practice.
  • Provide therapy in line with client’s Home Care packages / NDIS plan
  • Prescription of equipment, assistive technologies and other therapy supports if relevant / of interest
  • Liaison with families and other relevant stakeholders
  • Collaboration with the wider team and Equipment specialists
  • Providing treatment, guidance and education to individuals and their carers.
  • Participate in outreach programs (if of interest)

Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy (with current AHPRA registration)
  • A passion for facilitating and enabling meaningful outcomes for the elderly population and people with disability
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and families to ensure that therapy is fun and engaging.
  • Current driver’s license and car
  • Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Children’s First Aid training (or willingness to obtain these).
  • Some clinical Occupational Therapy experience is essential
