About the role

Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are being established across Victoria focusing on care and support for people aged 26 and over who are experiencing mental health concerns – including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug treatment and care needs and their family, carers, and supporters. Eastern Health has partnered with Wellways, Inspiro and Oonah to deliver the Yarra Ranges Local which will offer a "how can we help?" and no wrong door approach making it easier for people to access the support they need close to their home, improving capacity of individuals to engage in our community and respond to any future psychological distress.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will be part of the Yarra Ranges Local multidisciplinary team consisting of; lived experience staff, mental health clinicians, AOD clinicians, medical staff and psychosocial workers. They will support clients of the Yarra Ranges Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service through providing primary clinical consultation for participants, carers and support people, providing secondary consultation for other service providers and provide clinical supervision for RANZCP accredited psychiatry trainees. You will play a vital role in ensuring that participants, carers and their families receive valuable and supportive mental health care.
