About us

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

About the role

Currently we are seeking suitably experienced Senior Pharmacists (HSU Level P3) for a range of positions across Fiona Stanley Hospital, in the following specialisations:

  • Anaesthesia and Perioperative Clinic;
  • Emergency Medicine;
  • Coronary Care and Angiography;
  • Cancer Centre;
  • General Surgery;
  • Gastroenterology;
  • General Medical;
  • Haematology;
  • Mental Health;
  • Intensive Care;
  • Respiratory; and
  • Nephrology.

As part of the recruitment process, you will be expected to nominate and demonstrate your suitable experience in one of the above specialisations. It is expected that applicants will have at least 3 years of experience in the relevant specialty area.

In addition, as part of a multidisciplinary team you will promote safe, rational and cost-effective drug therapy by providing and coordinating clinical pharmacy services which include monitoring of the patient's total medication profile, providing drug information and undertaking training and research. This is a recruitment pool for permanent full time, permanent part time, fixed term full time, and fixed term part time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2024.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
