Veterinary Services, Companion Animal
Position location: Western Region, Canada
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Companion Animal Veterinary Services team member – Western Region - Canada is responsible for providing veterinary support to our company's companion animal team, customers and portfolio of animal health parasiticides, vaccines and pharmaceuticals in Western Canada (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia).
Primary responsibilities include:
Providing medical and scientific information about our portfolio of companion Animal Health products as requested by veterinarians and veterinary clinic team members.
Handling product performance and quality complaints and reporting according to our Animal Health procedures
Engaging with clients through virtual platforms and face-to-face interactions, with and without sales representatives, with responsibilities for Western Canada. Occasionally will be called upon to support other parts of Canada as required to optimize support for our company's products and sales force
Contributing to the development, content, and delivery of scientific training programs to sales team members and as coordinated between other Veterinary Services team members, Product Managers, Regional Business Managers and the National Business Director
In collaboration with Product Managers, engaging in regular meetings to provide veterinary insight to marketing initiatives and reviewing promotional/technical material and product labeling from conceptual design to final copy to ensure scientific accuracy and adherence to ethical veterinary regulations and industry guidelines
Liaising with Regional Business Managers and the sales team to improve the success of the Companion Animal Business Unit. This includes providing scientific information and training with the goal to support the field force in building customer relationships.
In collaboration with Regional Business Managers and sales force, designing and implementing initiatives and activities related to Key Opinion Leaders, Key Influencers, Universities, Colleges and Key Accounts
In collaboration with Key Account managers, implementing initiatives and activities with key accounts
Liaising with other Canadian Veterinary Services team members, US Companion Animal Operations and Global Companion Animal department concerning issues and opportunities
Participating in required Animal Health meetings throughout the year
Representing our company when engaging with Companion Animal industry associations, partners and stakeholders
Veterinary Services, Western Region - Canada works closely with other Veterinary Services team members as well as the Marketing department, Regional Business managers, Account managers and Key Account managers to maximize the full potential of our company's Animal Health portfolio.
Qualifications:
Degree in Veterinary Medicine, with veterinary license in Canada
Minimum 2 years previous veterinary practice (private or industry) with emphasis in small animal practice
Ability to understand, integrate and communicate scientific concepts to lay and professional persons accordingly
Ability to plan, organize and execute high quality work
Ability to work effectively on own
Collaborative and able to work with cross-functional teams in driving individual and company results
Perform with a high level of business integrity and professionalism
Knowledge of Office technology and related software
Comfortable and proficient at engaging through face-to-face and virtual platforms
Ability to travel 50% of time, primarily within region, but across Canada is also required; to the United States and International meetings as needed
Must have a valid driver's license
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Language: English is required, French is an asset
