The role  

As a Senior System Support Officer, you will participate in the day to day activities of a team of specialist technical resources supporting the provision of clinical information that contributes directly to patient care and clinical decision making. additionally, conduct incident and problem investigation and management for the Laboratory Information System, supporting applications and devices.

Other Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support the business analysis of requirements for any new areas of implementation and development by providing input and advice in relation to configuration and technical issues.
  • Undertake the installation, configuration, documentation and validation of software, hardware and/or equipment versions within IM/ICT framework.
  • Undertake the assessment, analysis, development, documentation, implementation planning and delivery of IM/ICT changes and solutions.
  • Undertake and assist with interface analysis, development, implementation and support for laboratory instrumentation and other technical equipment or software within the organisation and other systems internal and external to Queensland Health.
  • Develop, maintain and share pathology knowledge to ensure that the Laboratory Information Systems are used in the most appropriate manner through regular research and discussion with clients.
Are you right for this role?
To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • Knowledge across a broad range of information technology solutions, particularly in clinical areas such as pathology, forensic sciences or public health.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse issues, develop collaborative solutions with minimal direction, whilst delivering high quality work.
  • Experience in providing excellent client service in the provision of technical and application support within a best practice IM/ICT framework.
  • High level interpersonal and written communication skills which reflect the ability to liaise effectively at all levels of Queensland Health, other government and non-government agencies and members of the public.

Previous Experience:

  • Previous experience in ICT service delivery within a clinical applications (AUSLAB/AUSCARE) support setting or previous pathology laboratory operational experience will be highly regarded. 
  • The incumbent of this position may be required to participate in on-call roster arrangements.
