The role  
The primary purpose of this position is to provide generalist primary health services in the First Nations community by working within a delegated Model of Care.  

This position is co-located at Hughenden for delivery of services to Hughenden and Richmond; and Charters Towers for training and support.  This position is part of the Western Corridor team of health workers.  Clinical supervision will be provided for all health worker positions.

Employment Term

  • Permanent full-time (HWF2)
  • Fixed Term Temporary full-time, up to 18 months (HWF1)

Generous remuneration package value up to $79,353 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $2516.80 - $2665.80 p.f. (HWF2)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Professional Development allowance + leave

Role requirements   

  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. 
  • For appointment at HW2 Level – Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • For appointment at HW1 Level – Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role as outlined and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe if appointed are encouraged to apply for this vacancy.  Should the applicant be successful, employment will be at the no qualification paypoint until evidence of completion of the required qualification(s) is provided.  Full finanicial and leave support will be provided to complete the qualification(s).  If you would like to discuss this option further, please call the contact listed on the role description.
