Salaried GP

We are looking to appoint a Salaried GP to join our Practice for 6-8 sessions per week. The Rookery is a friendly, patient-focussed practice, rated Good by CQC in all domains.• 6-8 sessions per week• Opportunity for additional sessions on an ad-hoc basis• Annual leave 6 weeks pro-rata per year + Bank Holiday Entitlement• One week of paid study leave (pro-rata)• On-site car parking • BMA endorsed contract of employment• Practice-funded indemnity coverAbout usThe Rookery Medical Centre is a GMS Practice in Suffolk practically equidistant to Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. Our list size is approximately 14,150.Our Practice has 12 GPs supported by a dynamic clinical and admin team including an ECP, Virtual Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, a Nursing Assistant, a FCP, Healthcare Assistants, a Health and Wellbeing Coach, Social Prescriber, and care navigators.We use SystmOne, Ardens, AccuRx and refer via DXS which is a local database containing all pathways and profromasWe work collaboratively with our local PCN, Forest Heath, which contains 7 other local Practices covering over 70,000 patients Dispensing PracticeRegular clinical and team meetingsStaff training and development is encouraged and facilitatedMain duties of the jobThe post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Patient consultations either face-to-face or by telephone. We triage all patients first so a normal session will usualy have phone appointments in the fist instance with space to schedule patients who you think need to be seen face-to-faceClinical admin including completing tasks and filing or actioning results and documentsAssisting medical emergencies within the PracticeProviding support to other members of the clinical teamParticipating in team meetings Contributing to audits where appropriate or necessaryIn accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including Face-to-face clinics and telephone consultationsVisiting patients at home or within a care home where necessarySupporting Care Navigators with patient triage and participating in Duty Doctor sessionsChecking and signing repeat prescriptionsDealing with queries, tasks, results, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocolsProviding counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions using the ETP service where appropriatePrescribing in accordance with guidelines, practice policy and where clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.If you would like more information about us, the services we offer or would like to discuss anything you have seen on our website, please get in touch. #J-18808-Ljbffr
