Metro South Health are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant - CYMHS Consultation Liaison to join their team. The Metro South Child and Youth Mental Health Service Consultation Liaison Team (CYMHS CL) supports the paediatric inpatient units at Logan and Redland Hospitals. CYMHS CL provides safe and timely input for youth consumers admitted to these wards with co-morbid mental health needs or those presenting with clinically significant distress.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of child and youth consultation liaison (CYMHS CL). The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider CYMHS CL health care team support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of CYMHS CL. 

• Responsible for clinical leadership for CYMHS CL services through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care.
• Maintain high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to inform and train the healthcare team of clinical practice updates and research findings within CYMHS CL area.
• Utilise advanced clinical skills and expertise to support nurses in patient care planning, delivery and education.
