This is an 18 bed department, an 8 bed short stay unit and it is a regional trauma centre. This public hospital also acts as a referral centre to metropolitan hospitals as required.Working in a highly collaborative and supportive team environment, the Staff Specialist Emergency Physician will provide exceptional emergency care within a multi-disciplinary team of medical officers and nursing staff to patients of the hospital.Key responsibilities of the role include providing specialist-level emergency service care, fostering of relationships with colleagues and other hospital specialists, provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching of junior medical staff, participate actively in audits, clinical meetings and safety activities.RequirementsApplicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABEM certified) or New Zealand.The LocationThis north-west Victoria regional city is set on the banks of the magnificent Murray River and has a population of around 80,000.
