Laboratory Technical Specialist

Laboratory Technical SpecialistCalgary or Edmonton, ABLock Search Group has partnered with a global leader in the laboratory equipment space to help recruit a Laboratory Technical Specialist to join their team in Calgary or Edmonton. As a Laboratory Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for engaging with key hospital and community laboratories, developing strategic sales strategies, contributing to business development, and overseeing contract implementation and business reviews. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in their sales department. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop key business relationships with senior decision-makers in clinical accounts.
  • Increase sales through focused selling to new customer opportunities via direct sales efforts, contract negotiations, and product detailing.
  • Contribute to Strategic Sales Strategies and Business Development initiatives.
  • Oversee Contract Implementation and conduct Business Reviews to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with minimal supervision within a highly competitive market.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS), or Bachelor of Science (BSc) with a relevant major required (MSc or PhD is an asset).
  • 2+ years in successful hands-on clinical lab or clinical sales roles
  • Laboratory technician experience is strongly preferred, ideally in Anatomical Pathology, Histology, Immunohistochemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology workflows.
  • Adept at identifying business opportunities for growth.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities. 
  • Ability to travel 30-50% (including into the US) with a valid driver's license and vehicle.
  • Ability to work from a home office.
