The successful incumbent will receive a $5000 supplement upon hire and an additional $5000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. Job InformationLocated in the capital city Yellowknife in the beautiful Northwest Territories, as the Clinical Coordinator of Pediatrics, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of care within the Pediatrics Unit including providing clinical leadership, education and support to all Pediatric Nurses. You will work with nursing staff and in consultation with the Manager, Hospitalists, Pediatricians and Psychiatrists to implement patient treatment planning, and patient & family care. You will ensure the appropriate transition of patients back to the community through communication, planning, and coordination with NTHSSA Regions (including but not limited to Community Health Centers, Social Programs), non-government organizations, and other stakeholders. You will provide clinical supervision, mentorship, support, education and guidance to Registered Nurses (RNs) in the provision of patient care.
You will model and promote excellence through the demonstration of clinical best practices with patients in collaboration with RNs, and provide seasoned advice and recommendations to RNs, to help them effectively address difficult, complex, or unusual situations. As an educator, resource and mentor, you will help guide nurses from task orientation to more empowered analytical thinking and care giving approaches. You are expected to remain calm, controlled and professional, and to demonstrate compassionate care to the client, family and other members of the health care team.
To be considered for this role you will need to have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and have a minimum of five (5) years of recent clinical experience within Pediatrics.
